This is a 1½ mile (2.4km) guided walk in search of the charming Red Squirrels of Wensleydale and other wildlife. Join us on a search for tracks and signs of local wildlife, ending at the Snaizeholme Red Squirrel view point. Find out how we have managed to protect and record the squirrels both here and elsewhere in the Yorkshire Dales National Park over recent years. This is a must for wildlife spotters and photographers. Don't forget your binoculars, if you own a pair. It will be an afternoon to remember!
This walk has plenty of stops but does include a section of steep ground on an uneven footpath (because the walk is a ‘there and back again route’ this steep slope has to be walked both downhill and uphill). If you might find this section of the walk difficult or if you have a disability or health condition that limits your mobility please contact Hawes National Park Centre on 01969 666210 for more details. The walk can be muddy, wellies or boots are recommended.
This activity will run twice; 10.30 - 13.00 and 14.00 - 16.30. Both sessions are the same.
