Walking in the Dales

Leadmining History on Grassington Moor

  • £500

Children are free, but we need to know how many people in total to expect.

Join our experienced Dales Volunteers on this 4 mile (6.4km) guided walk and discover about this massively industrialised corner of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and a wide range of mining related activity throughout the ages. We will visit the remains of shafts, adits, ore dressing, peat cutting, reprocessing and much more, and hear about the shocking fatal accident of a child. Park end of Moor Lane, Yarnbury, Grassington (SE 015 658).
