Iconic Landscapes of Upper Ribblesdale
A stunning 7½ mile (12km) walk through classic limestone scenery with views of the Three Peaks, exploring the influence of humans on this special landscape. See glacial features and learn about the geology of the area. We will follow ancient Highways, sections of the Pennine Way, the Ribble Way and the Pennine Bridleway, including the award-winning new bridge across the Ribble at Far Moor. Hear about droving, farming, railways and quarrying.
A level 4 YDNPA walk; the route includes steps, stiles, uneven ground and steep gradients across open countryside. Please wear outdoor clothing appropriate for the weather and sturdy footwear with good grips, walking boots are recommended.
Please bring a packed lunch.
