Lunchtime Meander to the River Ure
Spend your lunchtime with us on a leisurely 1.5 miles (2.4 km) stroll in a pretty valley. We will do a tiny bit of the Pennine Way before walking through meadowland alongside the River Ure where you may be fortunate enough to see different species of birds and waterfowl.
Leaving the riverside, passing through grass meadows before walking under a bridge on the route of the former railway which ran through Hawes and hear how the railway transformed the economy of the region. After a short climb we enter Hawes to explore the lower part of the village.
A level 1 YDNPA walk; The route includes some stone stiles and footpaths through meadows which could be muddy especially near the river. Please wear outdoor clothing appropriate for the weather and sturdy footwear with good grips.
