Springtime in Oxenber and Wharfe Woods
A 6 mile (10km) to see ancient Oxenber and Wharfe woods. We will be accompanied by Tony from the YDNPA wildlife team who will help you to enjoy an area rich in Spring flowers. We will observe a variety of habitats – limestone pavement, grassland and wood pasture. On the way we will visit the mysterious Celtic Wall, mentioned by Alfred Wainwright in his “Walks in Limestone Country”. We will also enjoy views of classic limestone scenery and will discuss how the landscape came to be as it is.
