Children are free, but we need to know how many people in total to expect.

A 3.5 mile (5.6km) walk alongside the Ribble. We will talk about the industries which depended on the river in the past, discover an Archimedes screw, and visit the site of the Craven Limeworks with its Hoffmann Kiln where quicklime was produced on an industrial scale This is one of the area’s best kept archaeological secrets and has to be seen to be believed. We will conclude the walk with a visit to Langcliffe, a quiet village with a violent past.

A level 3 YDNPA walk led by Nick Berry along relatively flat riverside paths. There are some stiles on the way.

Please wear outdoor clothing appropriate for the weather, and sturdy footwear with good grips.
