"The hand knitting industry was significant in the Yorkshire dales. See our fascinating collection of knitting sticks, when you come to visit, each one is unique and personal. They were used as a support to hold your work and needle, and were tucked into a belt around the waist, it enabled men and women to knit on the go, men would often walk and knit on their way to work. They are sometimes used now for knitting socks, I wouldn’t be without mine".
The knitting sticks are priced at £26.00 for the dark rosewood ones and £22.00 for the Beech ones. Designs may vary.
The knitting sticks are hand turned by Margaret Garrard.
