Guide to Day Flying Moths- FSC

  • £400

The FSC Day flying moths guide features 103 species which fly in the daytime in Britain and Ireland.

Although most moths fly at night, a good number are active during the day. Warm still days are best. You can see flying moths simply by walking around likely habitats. Resting moths can be found by gently tapping leaves and flowers. We have included a few very common species that are are regularly disturbed from vegetation.

Five of the smaller micro-moths which are commonly encountered, are also shown. Except where indicated, all are shown life size, though it should be remembered that sizes may vary according to habitats. Numbers are given in brackets in the text for those species which are illustrated overleaf.

There’s a further moth identification guide on the reverse side, with a text description of the characteristics of each species.

What about adding one of these?..
